PTO and EIR

The Paid Time Off (PTO) program allows for time off for vacation, short-term sick leave, holiday, family emergencies, religious observances and personal reasons all in one program.

Extended Illness Reserve (EIR) is used to supplement State Disability or Workers’ Compensation when you are on an extended medical leave or to care for a sick family member.

All full-time and part-time employees scheduled to work at least 20 hours per week are eligible. Per diem,
extra help and temporary employees are not eligible for PTO or EIR.

No enrollment is necessary. You begin accruing PTO and EIR once you meet the eligibility requirements.
You must have at least 28 days of continuous employment before you can begin to use PTO or EIR.

PTO Accural
The PTO plan combines sick, vacation, and holidays in to one account of paid days off according to the accrual schedule below. Part-time employees receive a pro-rated accrual amount based on the number of hours worked per pay period.

EIR Accrual
Full-time employees accrue 48 EIR hours per year. EIR hours are pro-rated for part-time employees based on the number of hours worked per pay period.

There is no maximum number of EIR hours that can be accrued.

EIR hours must be used to supplement State Disability or Workers’ Compensation in the event of extended
illness, not to exceed 100% of pay.

You can use half of your annual EIR accrual (maximum 24 hours per year) to care for an eligible family member.

Bereavement Pay
Full-time employees are provided up to three days and part-time employees are provided up to two days bereavement leave, without loss of pay for the purpose of attending to arrangements and travel related to an immediate family member’s death. Immediate family members are defined as:

    Spouse
  Domestic Partner
  Parent/Parent-In-Law
  Child
  Sibling (including Step-Brother/Sister)
  Grandparent
  Grandchild

Employees may request bereavement pay by notifying ICS at 866-752-6438.
